timber_frame.py
new projectA Revit 2026 add-in and MCP server I built for my own timber-frame modelling work. I select a wall in a linked IFC model, or simply describe it, and Claude builds the complete frame directly from it: plates, studs, openings with lintels and sills, the sheathing layers, the model group, the production-sheet dimensions and the cut list.
Why I built it
To do my own work better: faster, more consistent and to the same standard on every wall. Fewer repetitive clicks, more time for the decisions that actually need a modeller.
How it works
Chat in Revit→Claude→MCP server→Revit add-in
A chat panel docks right inside Revit and sends the current selection along as context, including walls in a linked IFC model. Claude measures those walls and their openings, proposes the change as a dry run, and only builds it after I confirm.
Built to be trusted
workflow.py
One selection and one question in the chat. The rest follows step by step, with a check before anything is final.
